CAS Week 11: Service (Learning Outcome 4 and Learning Outcome 5)

(S) Designing the Newsletter for The Bayou Village School 

This is a continuation of my working on the newsletter for Bayou Village. This week wasn't different from the other weeks that I've been working on the newsletter, however, this week was the monthly update on each of the classes!


In this update, I get sent information that each of the classes teacher's sent to the director, as well as pictures of each of the classes. Then, I get sent all of this information to put in the newsletter. Usually, I give each class a page with as many pictures as I can fit, and I try to put the rest of the information in the same order that it was sent to me in. This week wasn't especially hard to format, or design, and it was definitely nice to start working on the newsletter again! I really enjoy putting everything together on the newsletter, and it's definitely been a nice way to continue learning more about designing! I also think that this experience has definitely helped me continue to persevere through challenges, and continue to learn how to work together with The Bayou Village School to create their newsletter!

(S) Designing the Newsletter for The Bayou Village School  For this week, I continued to work on this week's newsletter! I mainly worked on it, and finished it during Friday evening after I got home.  This week was a little bit more of a serious newsletter, with a lot of information and updates from the school that needed to included in many different pages of the newsletter. There was also a technical difficulty with the pictures that I got sent to include in this newsletter, so I sadly wasn't able to include any pictures in this week's newsletter. This week's newsletter was definitely longer than average, as I had to put all of the information, letters and updates that needed to be sent out to the school community this week.  I had a busy day after school on Friday, so this was definitely a little bit of a harder newsletter to get in on time, since I wasn't able to fully work on the newsletter until I got home that evening. CAS Week 16: Activity (Learning Outcome 7)

(A) Going to the DMV to get my Learner's Permit: Part 1  This week, I went to the DMV to get my Learner's Permit! It's definitely a longer process than I thought it was going to be, since I've never been to the DMV before. One of the longer parts of the entire process was definitely going to the DMV, as the closest DMV to my house and the school is almost 6 miles away. It's definitely been hard to not have a DMV building closer to our house, since this is the second time that we've had to drive all the way over to the DMV, and back. My mom and I made sure to have all of the right forms this time, which was an easier process to get through, so I hope that this appointment can be more successful than the last time! This experience was definitely super tedious, and through going this I was able to see the ethics of the choice that I made to get my driver's license in my senior year. Learning Outcome 7

CAS Week 1: Activity (Learning Outcome 2)

 (A) Biking around my Neighborhood A few weeks ago, I started biking around my neighborhood. I began to ride with by myself up to ends of our street, and around the other surrounding streets near our house.  I wanted to build some exercise and athletics into my daily routine as I was doing distance learning, and decided to try to consistently ride my bike a few times a week to get that exercise in. I also wanted to be able to go outdoors more, given the circumstances and situation we're in right now with COVID-19. So far, integrating biking into my week has been successful, as well as helpful. I've begun to ride with my family as well after school. In addition to a good way to build some exercise into my mostly indoor days, it's become a good way to spend time with my family outside of our house.
